A common complaint among users of wireless electronics seems to be quality of sound. There maybe noise issues or playback quality issues – but the bottom line is that people dread the experience of listening to their favorite tunes, instead of looking forward to it. At parties and get togethers when the music is played, the wireless equipment (and its quality) may becomie the topic of conversations, which is definitely not something you intended.

On this blog I am trying to present only the best quality of speakers, so your speakers, I hope, won’t become the topic of conversations for the wrong reasons.

Here are some more recommendations I found recently that you may want to check out. I wrote about the Acoustic Research AW822 Wireless Outdoor Speaker not too long ago.

“Michael Curtin of EPI Systems Integration, Pelham, N.Y., touted the AW822 transmitter and speaker setup ($129) from Acoustic Research as one of the best. With a range of 200 feet, music will be able to reach the pond, at least.

Another option recommended by Jeff Cooper of Simply Sight & Sound, Sun City, Calif., is the Outcast ($799) from Soundcast Systems. This system plows through 350 feet and transmits audio from either a stereo system or an iPod. According to Cooper can feed music to two wireless speakers. What I really like about this system though, is that I can control the music remotely by pressing buttons built into the top of the speaker.

Any time sound has to travel, it degrades over distance. Amplifiers can give your system the audio muscle it needs to go the distance, and the best place to put them is as close to the speakers as possible. Curtin found some great wireless amps that’ll work with any speaker I choose. The 5.8GHz Digital Wireless Audio Transmitter/Amplifier system ($199) from Amphony comes with an amp for each speaker. These amps can be located up to 200 feet from the transmitter.

While I like the idea of being able to keep all of my audio components safe inside my house, I’m not totally against carrying out something with me to the deck and patio—especially if it’ll make my music sound amazing. For a higher fidelity experience, Curtin recommends the Sonos 150 Bundle system ($999).”

This rugged outdoor speaker from Accoustic Research is great for enjoying music in your backyard or swimming pool or for listening to ball games while you are working in my garage. Your next door neighbors will appreciate that you will not have to open my window and crank your stereo to get the sound to carry outside anymore. It also stops the sound from coming out the main speakers, which is good if you don’t want everyone in the house to listen to play-by-play sports commentary.

The speaker can be used indoors or outdoors and has up to 250 foot range through walls or windows and celings. It is weather and water resistant and has a built in carrying handle and tripod feet for ease of use and stability.

The setup is a breeze: just take it out from the box and you can be listening to music in 15 minutes or less. The auto tuner and frequency lock are great features; they really take care of the static, (900Mhz is a heavily used frequency). If these feature don’t get rid of the static, completely, moving the transmitter around will.

Sound quality and volume level are good. If you are realistic and don’t expect the “wired” speaker quality, you will be satisfied with these speakers. You can try to optimize the quality by adjusting the levels on the stereo, transmitter, and the speaker itself.

Dual power mode provides ability to run on batteries or the supplied AC adapter. Each speakers needs 8 C batteries. Batteries hold the charge very long, at least several hours (I got rechargeable batteries – recharge automatically whenever the speakers are plugged into the AC adapter). Batteries make this speaker really versatile, but if your parties last till wee hours you can always plug the speaker directly into the wall (remove the batteries out first, unless they’re rechargeable). I’m thinking of planning to buy another speaker to add to my arsenal, so I can party to omni directional sound in stereo.

Wireless outdoor speakers are revolutionizing the way we listen to music while maintaining the best slick look possible. There are no dangling wires that you need to pull from your house to the lawn anymore. Wireless outdoor speakers give you a very high quality sound with “no wires attached.”

When having a party or relaxing with your friends outdoors in your backyard or swimming pool, you cannot use iPods, and speakers of iPods do not give such good quality sound. Therefore for any occasion or party at home, wireless speakers are the ideal solution to get high quality music to all your guests. They can transmit through walls, and you don’t really need to worry too much about disruptions. Most wireless speakers are battery charged.

When shopping for wireless outdoor speakers, you should look for quality of sound, maximum distance between the transmitter and speakers and battery life.

Popular high quality brands are Bose, Hammacher Schlemmer, Accoustic Research, and Element. More affordable models are available too from ZipConnect, Brookstone (read my review of weather-resistant wireless speakers from Brookstone), and other.

The distance between the transmitter and speakers should be optimal, according to your need. This is the distance to which the speakers can be moved while still giving out high sound quality. It varies from 25 to 200 feet, which is a very wide range. With an increase in this distance of operation, the cost increases, so make sure you have an optimal distance that covers the area you want to use them in.

There are outdoor speakers that come with long lasting rechargeable batteries. On the other hand, there are those speakers that operate on smaller shelf batteries with low life, but can easily be replaced.

Price of course is the next thing you want to factor into. Wireless speakers have been going down in price while going up in quality and there are more and more models available on the market today. You should be able to find affordable good quality systems for under 200 dollars, so you can get as many as you want to fully equip your house, your backyard, or your office with the type of music you want. High end, high quality speakers can cost over 1,000 dollars.

Outdoor speakers are specially made to withstand harsh weather conditions, such as rain and snow, so make sure your wireless speakers are outdoor rated before you buy them.
